pears

The Pears harvest time starts in the first days of August with the Carmen variety, continues with William, Conference and Kaiser varieties and finishes with Abate, Decana and Martin Sec varieties.

Usually the product is available till the month of December.

Carmen

Variety picked up about the 20th of July. Comes with an elongated shape and a yellow to green colouration with red facet. It has excellent organoleptics.

William

This variety has a more round shape compared to Carmen. It’s harvested in the first half of August. The pulp is whitish, juicy, sweet and has a pleasant acidity. It’s used either for fresh consumption or by processing industries to obtain juices, purees and cubes.

Abate Fetel

Big sized fruit with an elongated shape. The peel is light green with rusty glazes. Suitable for fresh consumption thanks to his excellent organoleptics.

Conference

Variety with medium size fruits and roundish shape. The peel is for a half green and the rest shows rustiness. The pulp is creamy white and is very appreciated by consumers for his sweet flavor.

Martin Sec

Variety with little sized fruits and a brown peel due to his characteristic rustiness. The pulp is creamy white and the taste is sweet and aromatic. It’s often used for baking in the oven.

Kaiser

Variety with medium to big size fruits. The peel has a light brown colour due to his characteristic rustiness. Comes with a fine pulp, who’s flavor is sweet and aromatic.
